I make for Cornwall, but first have to confront the roads West:

Soon I am in happy lands and enjoying the sea and country.

A trip to Lelant and their beautiful church, St Euny:

Beautiful wild flowers in the churchyard:

And views across  the estuary:

A John Miller view

It is one end of the St Michael walk, which connects the north and south coast – a pilgrimage of former times. I once did the walk with Juan Piola:

I also take in a Well Walk. This is a Well near St Just.

While away, I am receiving news from Buenos Aires: a book fair where my partner Pablo Mandel is presenting the book of Pomera Press: especially, my books on William Blake and Guitar Craft, and his book on Hyparxis:

And, of course, a trip to my favourite area in Cornwall – Gwithian:

……Lamorna stones…..

……..and Mousehole looking good.

…Cape Cornwall on a stormy day. It is said that the rocks off of the coast there resemble the French President de Gaulle on his back:

..Ancient mine buildings in the Cott Valley:

.

Two place to visit on the way home:

Firstly, the Japanese Garden near Newquay – always a delight…..

….and then the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle. There is an exhibition of the work of Alec and Janet Farrar Stewart. They were important initiators of modern Wiccan ritual in celebrating nature and the turning of the years.

Home, and a treat: off to see Ralph McTell in Bridport. Great show and time for a chat afterwards.

Ralph took a biographical approach and sang wonderful songs of his early life. This brought back memories of the public interview we did with him in Trinity College, Dublin:

A lovely song also about his grandfather being the train driver on the Brighton Belle – Ralph one time traveled with him in the open cabin.

More local trip to Mudeford – the nearest I am to the sea!

It is hot where I live!

Nothing to do but put on the Africa and Beach Boys Playlists to capture the mood.

I have been reading a book looking into the actual recording of Nick Drake’s 3 LPs. A singer I have always liked and whose doomed life is an extraordinary tale.

An office clear up!!!!
